Considering Potenza RF Microneedling + Rejuran®? Here’s What to Know
If you’ve been looking into treatments for concerns such as skin texture, visible pores, fine lines, firmness or acne scarring, you may have come across Potenza RF Microneedling and Rejuran®.
They are two different treatments, with different ways of being used and at Facial Harmony Skin & Dental, we don’t assume that everyone needs both.
Sometimes one treatment may be appropriate. Sometimes a combination may be considered. And sometimes another approach may suit your skin better.
That’s why we start with your skin rather than a package.
Potenza RF Microneedling
Potenza combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy.
Fine needles enter the skin at selected depths while RF energy is delivered according to the treatment settings chosen for the individual.
Depending on your skin and suitability, RF microneedling may be considered for cosmetic concerns relating to the appearance of:
- skin texture
- visible pores
- certain types of acne scarring
- fine lines
- skin firmness
One of the things we like about Potenza from a treatment-planning perspective is that the settings, needle depth and treatment approach can be adjusted rather than using exactly the same protocol for every person.
At Facial Harmony, your treatment is planned after assessing your skin, areas of concern and relevant history.

What is Rejuran®?
Rejuran® is a polynucleotide-based injectable medical device originating from South Korea.
In Australia, Rejuran is regulated as a Class III medical device and may be advertised to the public; it is not a Schedule 4 prescription medicine.
It contains animal-derived polynucleotide material and is administered within the skin.
Depending on individual suitability and the particular Rejuran product being considered, it may form part of a treatment plan focused on the appearance and quality of the skin.
At Facial Harmony, Rejuran is provided by Registered Nurses following individual assessment.

So… should you choose Potenza, Rejuran®, or both?
This is where we think treatment planning matters.
Potenza and Rejuran are not interchangeable treatments, and combining treatments does not automatically mean a better result.
For one person, RF microneedling may be the main consideration. For another, Rejuran may be discussed. In other circumstances, your Registered Nurse may consider whether using more than one treatment as part of a broader plan is appropriate.
We look at things such as:
- what is actually bothering you about your skin
- your skin characteristics
- previous treatments and how your skin responded
- relevant medical and treatment history
- your tolerance for recovery
- your expectations
- whether a treatment is likely to be worthwhile for you
We would rather recommend less treatment when less is appropriate than build a treatment plan simply because several options are available.
What can treatment actually achieve?
This is an important conversation to have before booking any cosmetic procedure.
No skin treatment can promise a particular result, and outcomes vary significantly between individuals.
Our aim during consultation is to help you understand:
what may reasonably change, what may not change, and whether the treatment is worth considering for your particular concern.
Sometimes that means discussing Potenza. Sometimes Rejuran. Sometimes another treatment, home skincare, waiting, or no treatment at all.
What is the treatment experience like?
If Potenza is selected, the treatment involves microneedling with radiofrequency energy using parameters chosen for the treatment area and your individual assessment.
If Rejuran is selected as an injectable treatment, it is administered within the skin according to the treatment plan.
Where more than one procedure is being considered, your Registered Nurse will discuss whether they should be performed together or separately and why.
Treatment times, discomfort and recovery differ between people and also depend on the area and treatment performed.

What about downtime and risks?
We don’t describe these treatments as “no downtime,” “painless” or “risk-free.”
Following RF microneedling or an injectable skin procedure, temporary effects such as redness, swelling, warmth, tenderness, sensitivity, bruising or visible treatment marks may occur. Other risks and potential complications are treatment-specific.
Before deciding whether to proceed, you should understand the full potential risks, expected recovery, aftercare and circumstances in which you should contact the clinic.
You can read the detailed treatment information here:
→ Potenza RF Microneedling: Risks, Recovery & Treatment Information
→ Rejuran®: Risks, Recovery & Treatment Information
Your Registered Nurse will also discuss risks relevant to your individual circumstances before treatment.
Ahpra specifically requires full risk information for higher-risk cosmetic procedures to be easy for consumers to find; it should not only become available after someone contacts the clinic.
How many sessions will I need?
There isn’t one treatment schedule that suits everybody.
The number of sessions and whether another session is appropriate at all – depends on the treatment, your individual response, your goals and your assessment.
We prefer to review how your skin responds rather than automatically placing everyone on the same ongoing treatment schedule.
Our approach at Facial Harmony
There are a lot of skin treatments available now, and it can become confusing very quickly.
Our approach at Facial Harmony Skin & Dental is to make the decision simpler, not bigger.
Skin treatments are provided by Registered Nurses within their professional scope of practice. We take time to assess your skin, understand what you would actually like help with and explain which options may or may not be appropriate.
Before you decide, we can talk through:
- what each treatment involves
- why we may recommend one option over another
- realistic expectations
- limitations
- risks and recovery
- alternatives
- costs
- and the option of doing nothing for now
A consultation doesn’t mean you have to have treatment.
